Celeste developers Extremely OK Games have announced their new game at The Game Awards this evening, and it looks like theyve gone in a new direction from their previous tough-as-nails platformer. Earthblade è il nuovo gioco in 2D degli autori dellottimo e premiato Celeste, cosa che ci fa già attendere il titolo con grande curiosità. Earthblade won’t be out until 2024, but it looks like it already may end up being worth the wait. Like Celeste, Earthblade features beautifully detailed pixel art graphics and a lush world to explore. You play as Névoa, a child of Fate returning to Earth and exploring it, attempting to uncover its mysteries and what happened to it in what’s described as an “explor-action platformer.” And as seen with the trailer that sweeps over a large portion of the map while showing Névoa in various actions, there should be quite a bit of exploring to do. Two years after its launch, Extremely OK Games’ Celeste received an additional release to its name.
EARTHBLADE CELESTE UPDATE
Okay, admittedly, the world in Earthblade is…well, Earth. Not to mention the free DLC, the recent update for PC and console (soonTM), as well as celebrating the game's 3 year anniversary by revealing Celeste Classic 2 (inspired by the original Celeste Classic at a game jam) at a community event (online ofc) this last June for free. Earthblade is the studio's next game, following 2018’s Celeste, and promises to be a 2D action game with plenty of exploration in a seamless pixel art world. And the creators of Celeste, they returned with EXOK Games, but why settle for mere gameplay snippets of their latest title in a trailer when you can show off a chunk of the game’s world as well? So say hello to the world of Earthblade, which you can see in the trailer below. But name recognition alone is worthless without something impressive to get people talking. Sometimes, all you need to do to create excitement at the Game Awards is mention the latest project from a well-known develop, new IP or not. The developers of the critically-acclaimed action platforming game Celeste have announced their follow-up title, called Earthblade.
